Originally established in 1978, Trans Canada Utility Pole supplies its
customers from a distribution yard located in Thornton, Ontario.
Trans Canada Utility Pole maintains a treated pole inventory to ensure
prompt supply and delivery of :
CCA PEG PLUS Poles - CSA and ANSI Standards - All sizes and classes.
CCA Poles - Temporary Line Construction. 30 and 35 foot material.
CCA PEG PLUS and CCA treated Red and Jack Pine Poles are clean and odourless. The CCA preservative bonds with the wood resulting in a product that is highly leach resistant and safe in applications with regular human contact.
You Don't Get Much Greener
No product is without environmental impact, but wood products such as treated wood poles and cedar fencing come close. They are made from a plentiful and renewable resource grown on managed timberlands. Energy requirements are low - nature generously invested most of the energy needed. Growing trees produces oxygen and wood stores carbon thereby helping to limit the accumulation of greenhouse gases. And used wood is recyclable in a variety of applications.

RED PINE POLES
Red Pine (Pinus resinosa) is native to Eastern Canada and the North-Eastern United States. It is a straight growing, evenly grained pine species. Used for years by many Canadian utilities in their distribution lines, the red pine pole has provided reliable service for almost a century.

WEIGHT
Red Pine is significantly lighter in weight than Yellow Pine, before and after treatment. Lighter weight means larger load sizes and increased ease of installation. INCREASED SOFTNESS Red Pine is 30 percent less dense than Yellow Pine. Lower density (and hardness) makes poles less difficult to frame and easier to climb, even without the addition of a conditioning agent. |

* PEG PLUS (polyethylene glycol) is an inert pole preservative additive which conditions the wood, reducing the frequency and severity of checking and increasing climber's spur penetration by up to 50% over treatment with CCA only.
